FULL SPECTRUM FEATURES NFP is a Chicago-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to increasing diversity in the media arts by producing, exhibiting, and supporting the work of women, LGBTQ, and minority filmmakers. We also aim to educate the public about important social and cultural issues, utilizing the power of cinema to foster understanding in our communities.
By promoting and cultivating artistic voices often ignored in the film industry, Full Spectrum Features aims to be a leader in addressing the diversity problem in film and media. We pursue these ends through high-quality, well-produced narrative films, which possess tremendous potential for broad cultural impact.
While the importance of media representation is being increasingly understood on a national scale, the conversation is too often limited to the characters on screen. We want to change the entire media landscape, including those behind the camera and those in the audience.
Inclusive representation is also crucial in terms of our audiences and the conversations we build around our films. We actively engage organizational partners and stakeholders whenever we present our films, to ensure that the presentation and discussion of the films directly involves communities in a responsible, respectful, and equitable manner.
