AMY E. POWELL

INTERIM HEAD OF PRODUCTION

Amy E. Powell (any pronouns) is a screenwriter, director, and producer based in Chicago, IL. They initially studied acting at Northern Illinois University and the Moscow Art Theater School but, amidst finding that roles for women were lacking, they transitioned to working behind the camera with a mission to create more opportunity for folks who have been historically excluded in the arts.

Amy has produced numerous independent films that have screened in festivals across the country and especially enjoys collaborating with theater artists. Recent credits include the multi-award winning web series “Bare Naked Truths (from the Observed Observer),” which she produced and directed, and "Hair," a short film produced with Chicago’s Teatro Vista, now in post-production.
Commercial credits include work with brands like AT&T, The Brooks Institute, and Red Cross. Her vocal talents can also be heard in the DnD podcast @rollforitpod as Havalar the dragonborn.

Currently, Amy is a producer at Full Spectrum Features and is co-writing the screenplay adaptation of play “Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol”. In her spare time, she teaches tricks to her parrot companion, Gus.
